Sharon Ninham the owner has set up a fantastic Book Exchange at Coconut Grove.
The layout is friendly and inviting with four rooms that are spacious, neat & tidy with fully stocked book shelves and a Sitting Room for your reading pleasure.
People are encouraged to come in and browse, purchase a book & a delicious coffee made with freshly ground beans or perhaps a cup of tea and to enjoy the ambiance of the beautiful outside area. (Closed in the Wet Season). The Sitting Room is open all year round, with other nooks and crannies that you can find a chair and hide away.
There are book specials every day with many popular authors retailing at $1 per book. If the book you are seeking is not in stock, Sharon can help you to source it via the internet.
Caryota Book Exchange is closed on Sunday, Monday and Public Holidays however, Sharon will still be treating people with Ka Huna Massage most mornings and on Saturdays (baring COVID-19 endemic).
How does a Book Exchange work? Bring in your unwanted books in a good condition & the exchange will offer you a credit for them (not cash), if in a good condition & only if in need of them the shop will then offer you a credit for exchange. You then choose a book/books and receive the credit off the purchase price. Any accumulated credit is stored for 6 months only. The Book Exchange does not swap books and offers maximum of $4 credit per book depending on the condition and genre. All the books in store are for sale whether you have a book to exchange or not.
Come on in after your workout at Yoga Space, (same complex) and browse for a book before heading off.
Ruby G’s is a popular bakery/coffee shop at the end of Caryota Court on Dickward Drive, pop in and see us on your way home!
Do call into the Caryota Book Exchange and see for yourself. There is nothing quite like it anywhere else in Darwin. Not only does it have a beautiful user friendly layout but also the outdoor courtyard garden patio where one can sit in comfortable chairs and sofas and enjoy a delicious beverage whilst reading in the dry season is heaven. Designed for a quiet haven for reading. Bring your lunch & enjoy the outside atmosphere!
Sharon looks forward to welcoming you there and sharing this beautiful space with you.
